SmartNet field staff are in the New England market conducting maintenance, upgrades and new installations. This deployment will make huge strides to improve geometry, spacing and GNSS correction availability in MA, RI and CT. In addition to hardware upgrades, a number of existing stations also required an upgrade to the physical monumentation to bring the installations up to SmartNet standards.
These new stations have been marked as ‘Under Repair’ on the Live Status map and will be offline until Monday, March 27 to facilitate the establishment of coordinates on the new monumentation. We will bring the stations online with preliminary coordinates that should fit within the millimeter range to the established reference system in New England. We will determine final coordinates for all of these stations during our Spring Adjustment in April and apply these new values as required.
